In their new program, "Di Eyne Velt," Mischpoke continues their blend of diverse styles and intercultural influences, yet never forgetting the spirit of klezmorim: sometimes traditional klezmer in the medley "Happy Klezmorim," sometimes very Yiddish in "Lidele in Yiddish," sometimes fiery Romanian in "Hora Martisorului" or jazzy in "Oyf der zuniker zayt fun der gas." In the epic piece "Chant," Mischpoke pays homage to the Jewish composer and violinist Paul Kirmann.
This versatility doesn't just delight Klezmer fans. "Az felker, groys un kleyn, zoln kenen dos farshsteyn – All peoples of the world should be able to understand this," says a line in the lyrics of "Lidele in Yidish" – in other words, "Di Eyne Velt"!
