Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen are primarily known for their humorous, acoustic pirate folk, which they've dubbed Grog 'n Roll. But although their original German compositions are already quite a tug-of-war, the pirates from Osnabrück in the Caribbean have dared to experiment: Their acoustic lineup of ship's piano, guitar, flutes, percussion, and characteristic, rum-burned vocals is now supplemented by electric guitar, bass, and drums. The result is called Plankrock and presses on the ear canal like the salty storm winds off Cape Horn.
