The Romansh have three things in their veins: music, the Graubünden mountains, and a quiet, subtle sense of revolution – slow and powerful like their glaciers. All of this can be heard translated into sound on Pascal e Rees' new CD, Veta gloriusa.
The "glorious life" (the German translation of the title) comes unplugged, acoustically, and uncouthly. With depth, alpine heights, humor, a very unique perspective on life, but above all with Pascal's experimental singer-songwriter and guitarist qualities and Rees' warm, jazzy bass. The primal, soft, and highly musical sound of the Romansh language, which Pascal intersperses with English as needed and according to the mood, is also always surprising.
