Before he could even stand on his own two feet, he was already fascinated by the sound of the piano. Almost seventeen years later, Paul Conrad Schmidt, a native of Kiel, released his first CD with his own compositions, which impressively demonstrate his flair for the instrument and his great talent.
For his first CD, Paul C. Schmidt has chosen a blend of film music, pop interpretations, and his own compositions. In addition to the main theme from the science fiction drama "Interstellar," "A Thousand Years" by Christina Perry, and "River Flows in You" by Yiruma, it includes five original compositions he has worked on since 2014. Pieces such as "Ich blüte im Schatten," "Hope," and "Memories" demonstrate the extraordinary breadth of his musical talent.
He masters the instrument with a virtuosity that is both captivating and convincing for a young musician. With unparalleled sensitivity, he builds the crescendo in "Ich blüte im Schatten," always confident of unfolding or fading the notes at the perfect moment. Soft notes alternate with strong and clearly struck ones. Paul C. Schmidt skillfully utilizes the full variety and breadth offered by this instrument.
