2020. A year that will surely go down in history! It would have been nice because of the first PLEIL album, "Die Spur des Kalenders," which was released in April. Unfortunately, no, it was supposed to be Corona!
The (virus) catastrophe that paralyzed the world, making all music releases and live concerts virtually impossible or even redundant. What should a creative person do? (Marco) PLEIL felt the same way as everyone else. A lifeline came his way in the form of a grant from the Hessian Cultural Foundation: "Reopening Hesse Culturally." Of course!
The idea and plan were quickly formed: to take the "Die Spur des Kalenders" album to the next level and give the whole thing a fresh start! No sooner said than done! In September 2020, they returned to the RAMA recording studio in Mannheim with producer Christian Bethge (Messer, Laura Carbone, Gewalt, Heim).
They have recorded two brand new songs, the first that PLEIL has released since
"The Trace of the Calendar" wrote: "Best wishes!" and "Jazz is not an option." The same DNA, yet much more mature! Suddenly, a drum loop rumbles through the song, there's organ riffs, and the acoustic guitar, so neglected on the album, cautiously peeks through the arrangements. You're always evolving!
