Plöckinger - Silverline (MP3-Download)
The album "silverline" is Othmar Plöckinger's fourth studio album. Like his last album, "illusions" (2020), "silverline" follows a thematic thread in terms of content, but cannot be clearly classified musically. It contains elements of various styles, ranging from blues, pop, and electronic music to classical music and Viennese folk songs. Examples of this are the two double tracks "dark waters 1" and "dark waters 2," which are connected by a thematic arc but take very different paths structurally and musically. The stylistic diversity is part of the concept of this album. The minimalist appearance of the CD is intended to further underscore the central importance of the music. The CD was again produced at the ôbaxé music studio in Salzburg with the participation of Salzburg musicians.
Oliver Uschmann wrote about the last CD “illusions”:
"Finding references for this record is difficult. This music [...] defies the simple "If you like this, you'll also like this..." logic. The bottom line is the feeling of having experienced something with the intellect, but also with the soul."
Othmar Plöckinger was born in 1965. He teaches German, history, mathematics, and ethics at an evening high school in Salzburg. In addition to musical productions, he is also active in literary and academic work.
