Illenberger rose to fame as part of the duo Kolbe Illenberger (the Best German Guitar Duo) in the 70s. He has performed in 50 countries, and a nomination for the German Record Award (1978) and a Grammy nomination (1997) are just a few examples of the international recognition his musical career has garnered.
