The band, of course, also has a wealth of examples of various blues styles in its repertoire. The album offers a great selection, whether in its funky, soulful style or mixed with a bit of country. Arndt delivers plenty of wah-wah sounds in "The Bad Thang" with Dieter Kropp on harp. The ballad on the record, in my opinion, is "Trouble Has Taken The Crown" from the CD "Voodoo" (2003).
The beautifully designed booklet, with its numerous illustrations, is a pleasure to pick up again and again while listening to the album. "The Blue Side Of..." provides a wonderful overview of the work of one of Germany's leading blues rock trios. On their fifteenth anniversary, reflecting on the past is justified and simultaneously fuels anticipation for new releases.
