Rio Nin - Movement (CD)

Unlike any of his previous albums: With his new album "Movement," Rio Nin completes his four-part solo series, which began with "For Your Ears Only" and continued with "Traces Of The Past" and "Eternity Of The Moment." Recorded by Henning Strandt at Watt Matters Studio, Rio Nin reveals a different facet of his work: For the first time, the warm-sounding classical guitar takes center stage, creating an intimate and expansive sonic atmosphere. A bilingual booklet featuring the musician's lyrics for each track adds another layer of narrative to the music.

The 15 compositions follow the idea of ​​movement as a musical and poetic journey. The music knows no direction, no destination. Sometimes it circles like an old wheel ("The Old Wheel"), sometimes it flows like a small stream ("Little Creek"), sometimes it flies as lightly as a falling feather ("Falling Feather") – and then again it opens windows into unknown spaces ("Open Windows"). Pieces like "Walkaround Time" possess a slightly jazzy openness, while "The Old Wheel" and "Nine" incorporate classically Spanish-influenced elements. With its distinctive riff, "Dance of the Leaves" also brings a subtly rock-like energy to the album, which rounds off the musical arc in a special way and expands the album's stylistic diversity.

The atmosphere of "Movement" is enhanced by the artistic artwork of Antje Warnecke and the expressive photographs of Steven Haberland. With every note and every phrased line, Rio Nin creates a space that invites listeners to drift – not forward, not back, but simply onward.
