Robert Redweik could probably only guess at the storms we've already experienced this year, as he's spent countless hours in the studio since the beginning of the year, living in his very own time zone. This journey without time began in autumn 2016, when he made the final decision to produce the upcoming album under his own chosen structure. It quickly became clear to him that he would have to act independently in production in order to realize his ideas about what he wanted to do musically and lyrically. It was a bold step, of course, but motivated by the response on digital media channels (e.g. 2,5 million streams on Spotify alone) and at his club concerts, this is the only path for Robert.
The valuable creative collaboration with Peter Müssig has resulted in 11 unique songs, each with its own unique character. The musical diversity is the final result of a fruitful search for the right sound. Robert consistently exploits his musical range to the fullest on this album, giving each song a modern touch that perfectly complements his timeless lyrics. The thematic diversity of his lyrics reflects life in all its facets and colors. From day to night. Like a city that never sleeps.
The image of Las Vegas serves as the thematic ambassador for the album. A place where happiness and sorrow, success and defeat, love and separation constantly determine life, forms the common thread for the individual songs. This approach gave rise to the title of the album: "Your Vegas." Each of us is exposed to this game of life and must rise to this challenge. For better or for worse. Robert Redweik perfectly understands how to package all these moments, feelings, and forces in his songs in such a way that the positive ultimately remains. He looks critically but hopefully behind the facades of life, not in a didactic way, but in a motivating way.
