"I'm so wild about your strawberry mouth"—that's arguably François Villon's most famous line. In 26 chansons and ballads, Roland Jankowsky depicts Villon, accompanied by music, as he made his living as a highwayman and womanizer in 15th-century France, capturing his wild life in poems. The unity that is inherent in opposites such as death and life, love and separation, wealth and poverty and which François Villon Roland Jankowsky and his pianist meticulously recreate the sentiment so sharply in their performance and singing. A good half of the ballads in the program have been set to music. The music was written by Essen-based composer Tilman Reimers. The CD "Only those who live live comfortably" includes the musical setting of Jankowsky's Villon program.
