This is what it feels like, this is what it sounds like, when San Antonio Kid take the stage and strum their guitars for the first time. Rich in Californian coolness and, one might almost say, "spaghetti western-like," peppered with soul influences, the listener immediately finds themselves transported to the late '60s and early '70s.
Wonderful bands like The Growlers and Allah Las send their regards. And whether at festivals, in clubs, or supporting the Mystic Braves, Crystal Stilts, or currently the brilliant The Hanging Stars from England, San Antonio Kid delight audiences everywhere with their casually rumbling rhythm section. Their charming balance between Americana and Swabian is unique. Their style is casually surfy, and singer Matt's vocals are pleasantly brittle and unexcited. Their debut album was released in April 2016 on the amateur label Off Label Records.
The new vinyl single "Mystic Waves," which once again immerses you in the psychedelic pop world of the San Antonio Kids, will be released at the end of May 2018. So, attention, all gunslingers, cardsharps, and other (wanna-be) hipsters! Anyone who feels even the slightest longing for the sound of the good old days in the here and now shouldn't miss this band.
