Dresden-based jazz pianist and keyboardist Sebastian Wappler will present his debut album, "STILL HOPE," in 2026. The album centers on the innovative fusion of a groove-oriented jazz and fusion rhythm section with the string ensemble Lys.
Striking themes, minimalist structures, and driving grooves meet the orchestral richness of the string quartet. Jazz, neo-classical music, and influences from pop and fusion combine to create a unique sonic language where improvisational freedom and precise composition intertwine.
"STILL HOPE" sees itself as a musical bridge between jazz, classical music, and pop. The string ensemble expands the jazz context with new sonic dimensions, while the band's rhythmic energy transforms the classical sound world into a contemporary, groove-oriented atmosphere.
With his debut album, Sebastian Wappler makes a personal statement in favor of open and genre-crossing jazz. “STILL HOPE” represents music that connects different listening experiences, creating space for groove, improvisation, tonal colors, and emotional depth.
