Silence... then a Hammond purrs warmly and quietly before the distinctive rusty sound of a Dobro slide snaps into the scene, that familiar image that we know from Sergio Leone's westerns, dusty prairie and then from the distance the hooves of the cajon and the guitar.
Thus begins the new album, "As the Tides Are Turning Again," by the Italian-German-Canadian-Spanish indie folk band Sleepwalker's Station. The band, which is more of a concept than a band in the traditional sense, is a symbiosis of twelve elements from five different countries, performing in different lineups depending on the location and type of performance.
Here, it is the music itself that draws the common thread through the colorful carpet of sound, which is composed of melancholic, autumnal folk songs as well as Indian or even Irish-inspired melodies.
