SoundBirdz is a female guitar and vocal duo from Cologne with Christina Zurhausen (git) and Sarah Tsehaye (vocals). They are authentic and free in their expression and so their songs are usually created in spontaneous songwriting and improvisation sessions. Their songs are in the genres of soul, funk and pop and are profound, unconventional and moving, as is their stage presence with which they captivate and touch. The duo draw inspiration for their sound from various genres and thus form their unmistakable warm yet edgy sound. Christina, who studied jazz guitar and others, has been musically accompanied by Nirvana, John Scofeld Thelonious Monk and feels at home in the genres grunge, rock, jazz, soul and funk.
Sarah loves the great Motown singers, neo-soul, world music, and much more. Her clear and powerful voice conveys pure energy, and in symbiosis with Christina's guitar playing, the two create an atmospheric and timeless groove.
