Stefan Noelle writes with love, with fire, and sometimes with anger. His poetry is finely honed and to the point; his music is colorful and melodically rich. He orchestrates it with a delicate blend of folk-pop and jazz influences. Arranged for a small ensemble, with bass clarinet and alto flute providing rarely heard color, the result is a surprisingly rich, expansive sound that fills spaces while still making room for linguistic elegance and musical subtleties.
