Cologne-born singer and cellist Johanna Stein and Nuremberg composer and bassist Lutz J. Mays founded the exotic, energetic chamber pop duo STEINMAYS. Their congenial interplay and strong musical personalities create expressive, multifaceted music with sophisticated and critical lyrics. Their self-composed music ranges from singer/songwriter to jazz to hip hop. The streamlined instrumentation of bass, vocals, and cello, combined with the percussion of the versatile Charles Blackledge, always guarantees a distinctive and transparent character.
