Color is the long-awaited follow-up to its predecessor, Belonging, which the East Westphalians released four years ago. Time used to work extensively on new sounds, time used for reflection.
We live in "modern times," which seem to be the age of populism, marked by fear, social uncertainty, hatred, discrimination, and narcissism. We live in a world that seems increasingly divided into black and white, monotonous, colorless.
A young generation finds itself caught between hope and doubt, between rebellion and fear; a generation that strives for self-expression and self-realization and must watch as this society is slowly driven to the brink of madness.
Well, yes, Summery Mind doesn't really see itself as a political band, and they certainly don't want to point the finger and assign blame. That happens often enough. This album is about identity and self-realization for the band, about encouraging a younger generation to form their own truly independent opinions and thoughts, to approach the world without prejudice, to take responsibility, and to paint their own view of the world in all its colorful colors, instead of falling into black-and-white thinking.

Color will be released as a digipack and download as well as in an exclusive, limited box set, which contains the digipack, an expanded booklet, a second CD with 5 instrumentals as well as demo recordings from the songwriting process and unreleased acoustic live recordings, a signed autograph card, a fine art print of a band picture, a foldable rhombohedron as well as stickers and picks.
