Good things can appear out of the blue. And they do, even when the world is trapped in time and the past two years of the pandemic are more than blurred in memory. The initial spark came out of the blue, and new compositions and lyrics emerged from the pen of Klaus Ignatzek and Susanne Menzel, who for the first time appears not only as an extremely talented lyricist, but also as a composer. The two musicians, who are attuned to one another, wrote the songs for this album within a few weeks. These are often miniature reminiscences, written in words and music, of places visited, moments experienced, or encounters.
Together with the outstanding jazz musicians Florian Trübsbach (sax), Sven Faller (bass), and Christian Schoenefeldt (drums), they have developed and experienced fantastic musical moments over the past five years, which are now reflected in this album. Colorful chords, energetic improvisations, and rhythms, sometimes powerful, calm, or elegiac, create a variety of different moods. While the artistic strengths of each band member are individual, the shared spirit and mutual musical support in each moment are absolutely at the forefront.
