The magic of the first take – that's the motto songwriter and guitarist Tilo George Copperfield has chosen for his new EP "Sweet Honey." In true Muscle Shoals style, the album was completely arranged and recorded in one day with a strong backing band. Spontaneity and creativity, as well as musical skill and feeling, characterize "Sweet Honey," which could easily have come from the 70s. Copperfield has also invited some fantastic guest singers, making this album a truly unique cross-section of the alternative country and blues rock scene in Bavaria, far removed from the mainstream. From the wailing country of "June Bugs" to the Tom Petty homage of "Poet of the Highway" to the pounding Southern rock of "Godforsaken Place," every note is honest and delivers a remarkable statement from Copperfield as a songwriter who feels completely at home in this territory.
