Clansmen – that’s the name of the eighth album that The Keltics released onto the music market this spring. Twelve songs were recorded at the Echolane Studio at the beginning of the year. This includes the title track “The Clansman” and many other titles – from folk to punk to metal. There’s also an original song on the album. Overall, the album is a bit rockier than the previous ones, but very varied. You could say The Keltics have grown up, well, musically at least. The album melded the musical preferences of the seven musicians into a single whole. The Keltics are: Thys Bouma – vocals Mick Loos – whistles, uillean pipes, highland bagpipes Matthias Menke – mandolin, bouzouki, guitar Kim Hansen – accordion, keyboard Kai Schamberger – bass Dennis Huhn – guitar Alexander Kirchhoff – drums The secret of the band’s success lies in the combination of an authentic attitude to life and fun in music. The band conveys both of these to the audience. With earthy charm, plenty of humor, and a joyful performance, The Keltics present their new album, mostly ribald, sometimes tender, but always unique and captivating. Their repertoire encompasses the entire world of folk and more.
