They've done it: after almost 20 years, the wild Westphalians called "The Snooks" have released their first CD: "The Snooks – Greatest Hits." While other pop groups and pop stars spend years releasing more or less superfluous CDs, only to then release a "Greatest Hits" compilation 20 years later, The Snooks have decided to play concerts for 20 years and celebrate with their audiences, then launch straight away with a Greatest Hits album. This saves a lot of money, doesn't take up as much space on the CD shelf, and saves the listener from having to listen to songs they wouldn't like anyway. So, the ultimate Snooks CD will be released in early 2016 – just hits – one party hit after another!
There are exciting and offbeat cover versions by Talking Heads, Eurythmics, Joy Division, Johnny Freeman, Ben Harper, Depeche Mode, and David Bowie...all performed by a rock 'n' roll band with a classic lineup of two guitars, double bass, and drums. It sounds strange, and it is...but it's fun!
