The song Shadowplay was the first harbinger of the new album by “Tors of Dartmoor”. The interpretation of the Joy Division classic was recorded for a tribute sampler and now represents the transition to the new album. On “The Spirit of the Mezzanine” influences of the gothic cult bands Bauhaus and Joy Division are combined with the typical Tors of Dartmoor sound. Over 10 years have passed since their last album. In the meantime, The Tors of Dartmoor have been involved in numerous projects and have accumulated a wealth of song material. Most of the recordings were created as part of their respective artistic adventures. "The Spirit of the Mezzanine" will be released on October 15, 2021. Also released in December will be "The Obvious Darkness," the first album by The Tors of Dartmoor from 1991, as a reissue double CD featuring many unreleased demo tracks from the time before the studio recordings.
