Volkwin Müller - LIVE (2CD)

The double CD "Volkwin Müller & Co. – LIVE" contains a total of 24 tracks. The first CD is titled "Covers" and features compositions by Lennon/McCartney, Sting, George Harrison, Mark Knopfler, and Gallagher/Lyle. The second CD, titled "Own Songs," features songs written by Volkwin. With the trio "Volkwin & Co.", bandleader Volkwin Müller has found the formation with which he can realize his vision of his own songs and various versions of milestones in rock and pop music. "We played the cover songs in a special package, the kind I'd always wanted to hear," says Müller. Thus, "Volkwin & Co. – Live" showcases bandleader Volkwin as a fantastic singer and excellent guitarist—masterfully presented by his longtime collaborator Mike Turnbull and his brother Wolfgang. The CD "Own Songs" contains tracks from Volkwin's "Signale" program, as well as two new pieces, "Es ist vorbei" (It's Over) and "Luft zum Leben" (Air to Live). With these concert recordings spanning a total of four years, listeners and fans of Volkwin & Co. get everything they expect from a "Volkwin & Co." concert: the killer version of Sting's "Tea in Sahara" performed by percussionist Mike Turnbull; the Beatles classic "Come Together"; and the original composition "Deutschland," which Volkwin & Co. performed several times on television, including on WDR (Klingendes NRW). But the intimate moments Volkwin celebrates with Sting's "Roxanne" and the band's own song "Invisible Sun" also make this live album a gem in any folk music collection. Whenever you listen to this album, you know that the music is played with great emotion and passion, which will lead to a growing fan base in the long term.
