One of the latest talents in Madrid's creative music scene is the duo Zaruk, consisting of cellist Iris Azquinezer and German guitarist Rainer Seiferth, who has lived in Spain since 2005. On their debut album, "Hagadá," Zaruk devotes themselves entirely to the music of the Sephardic Jews, who were expelled from Spain at the end of the 15th century and settled in various regions of the Mediterranean. Their songs are colored by the sounds of these lands, and they always contain a hint of nostalgia for their lost Spanish homeland, Sefarad.
